I love Korean Spas 2

Today we went to SpaWorld, a Korean spa, and I couldn't be more thrilled with it. Somewhat different from the Korean spa that Ana and I visited in L.A., it had about a dozen different sauna rooms, whirlpools, a room with warm clay stones to lie in (everybody's favorite) and an in-house restaurant. If you didn't have to be naked (women's and men's soaking areas are separate) the spas would probably be too packed to get into.

Last night, we planned to see "The Dark Knight" (again, for Brian and me) at the Uptown Theater in Cleveland Park, but it was sold out a half hour before we got there. We caught the X-Files movie in the extremely bustling Chinatown instead and it was fine.

Hellboy painted manhole outside the theater.

As in Los Angeles, the spa looks unprepossessing from the outside. Here we are in Centreville, Va.

Brian and me in the ice room.

Ask me if you want to make a towel hat like this one, and I'll show you.

  1. I see the photo of Brian in the P. R. has been removed. I hope my innocent comment about him not looking happy there, was not misinterpreted.

  3. I have been to Olympic Women's Spa in L.A. an loved it. How does Spa World compare. Better or Worse.

  4. Olympic Spa in LA is more venerable and serene, kind of old world. SpaWorld is brand new and amazingly lavish. There's more to do, more to look at -- the freezing cold room, for instance. I think they're both great.
